The Airbnb turnover checklist

Whether you turn your own units or hire a cleaner, a written checklist is the single biggest driver of 5-star reviews. Use the version below as a starting point — copy it, prune it, and post it on the inside of your supply closet door.
Kitchen
- Wipe counters, backsplash, and the front of every cabinet
- Run the dishwasher and unload before the next check-in
- Empty, wash, and reline the trash bin
- Check fridge for leftover food, condiments, and odors
- Restock coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, oil
- Refill dish soap, sponge, paper towels, dishwasher pods
- Sweep and mop the floor; check under the table
- Inspect every glass, mug, plate, and utensil for cleanliness
Bathrooms
- Scrub toilet bowl, lid, seat, and base
- Wipe mirror and any glass with streak-free cleaner
- Disinfect sink, faucet handles, and counter
- Clean shower walls, glass, and drain
- Replace bath mat, hand towel, washcloths, bath towels
- Restock toilet paper (2+ rolls), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap
- Empty trash, replace liner
- Run the exhaust fan and check for any mildew smell
Bedrooms
- Strip and launder all bedding, including duvet covers and pillowcases
- Inspect mattress and sheets for stains under bright light
- Make beds hotel-style with crisp hospital corners
- Vacuum carpet, rugs, and under the bed
- Wipe nightstands, lamps, and headboard
- Check closets for forgotten guest items and extra hangers
- Set thermostat to a comfortable arrival temperature
Living spaces
- Vacuum couches, including under cushions
- Fluff and arrange pillows and throws
- Dust shelves, picture frames, TV, and electronics
- Test the TV, remotes, and Wi-Fi password card
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop hard floors
- Wipe door handles, light switches, and remotes
Final walkthrough
- Check every light bulb and replace if dim
- Run the AC/heat one cycle and listen for issues
- Lock all windows; check curtains and blinds work
- Walk the exterior — patio, balcony, entryway
- Stage welcome items (water, snack, guidebook)
- Photograph the finished space for your own records
- Send the guest the check-in instructions
